2021 Toyota Sienna Smart Key Reliability Repair
An aftermarket key for this rental van could operate the remote but would intermittently fail to start the vehicle. To reduce disruption for renters, it was replaced with a stable, compatibility-verified key solution and every key function was tested.

Diagnosis and programming

The existing key's remote, proximity and start behavior were checked to isolate the intermittent communication issue.

Passenger-side glove-box trim was removed and a dedicated harness used under the model-appropriate service procedure.

A compatibility-verified key solution was selected and registered to replace the unreliable aftermarket key.
Complete function testing
Lock, unlock, proximity detection, starting and power-door buttons were tested repeatedly before the van was returned.
